Research Theme: Development of the control architecture of a robotic station for the automation of synthetic DNA production processes

The Research Unit CREO Lab (Advanced Robotics and Human-Centered Technologies) at Università Campus Bio-Medico di Roma is seeking for a highly motivated Research Engineer, with a solid background in Biomedical, Automation, Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering, for the assignment of 1 research fellowship in Bioengineering.

The selected candidate will conduct research activity within the FIDIA project (Fabbrica Italiana per l’Immunoterapia Applicata), funded by MIMIT (Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy).
The aim is the mechatronic design and development of a robotic station to be introduced in a biopharma laboratory dedicated to the production of synthetic DNA for vaccines and gene therapy.

The candidate’s activity will be focused on the integration and control design of the station, including:

the controller for the robotic system to automatize the production process

the hardware, software and data integration of sub-modules
  *
the user interface for the operator
