About

ICIAP 2023 is the 22nd edition of a biennial series of conferences by CVPL, the Italian Member Society of the International Association for Pattern Recognition (IAPR). The conference focuses on classic and recent trends in computer vision, pattern recognition, and image processing and covers theoretical and applicative aspects. The event is hosted by the University of Udine, located in the downtown center of Udine. Udine is located in Friuli-Venezia Giulia region, in the North East of Italy, about 140 km from Venice and 80 km from Trieste.

The goal of the workshop is to gather the current results lying at the intersection of deep learning and field robotics in outdoor unstructured environments, embracing the broad realm of unmanned aerial, ground, and marine vehicles. The ultimate goal is to foster interaction between the two related communities, by sharing successful stories and promising directions to solve the current open challenges in deploying DL-based solutions in the wild. Special attention will be given to simulators and benchmarking tools as crucial elements in the development and testing of novel methods in hazardous environments where the robot may be irreparably damaged.
